Cold Weather Shelter to open Dec. 14 and 15

Wintry conditions prompt opening of enclosed shelters
Dec. 13, 2021 — Florence Emergency Cold Weather Shelter announced it will open its Pallet shelters this Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 14 and 15.
“The pallet shelters have electricity, thanks to a generous grant from the City of Florence, and with the cold and wet weather we are experiencing, it is time to be open,” said Florence Emergency Cold Weather Shelter President Pat Burke.
The site is located across from Sand Ranch on the north side of Florence on Highway 101. There will be a sign at the entrance.
The shelter will provide transportation from Safeway, Siuslaw Public Library, and Fred Meyer to the site, with pick up by the posted flags between 5 and 6 p.m.
Volunteers are also needed to staff the shelter and assist clients. For more information, contact Burke at 541-590-3598, 541-590-0652 or [email protected].
