City of Florence returns to in-person meetings

April 6, 2022 — The Florence City Council — (from left) councilors Rob Ward and Sally Wantz, Mayor Joe Henry and councilors Woody Woodbury and Bill Meyer — met in person for the first time in two years on April 4 at the Florence Events Center. The meeting was highlighted by proclamations recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month, Military Child Month and a brief tribute to former City Councilor Paul Holman. The evening also included introductions of more than a dozen new city employees and recognition of service for a number of long term city staff, including Public Works Director Mike Miller. A complete wrap-up of the meeting will be included in the next editions of the Siuslaw News.
