March 24, 2023 — Thursday, March 16 was the deadline to file for Lane County’s May 16, 2023 Special Election.

Ballots for Florence and Mapleton residents will include a combination of candidates for school, fire and water districts. Most candidates are running unopposed with position races in only Siuslaw School District, Mapleton Fire Department and Mapleton Water District.

The deadline to register to vote in the May 16 election is April 25.
