CARMICAL—Bill Carmical was promoted to heaven March 25, 2022. He passed peacefully at home with his wife Audre at his side. Bill was 92.
Bill entered the U.S. military at a young age. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII and then served in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in the Strategic Air Command 301st B52 Bombardment Squadron.
During his 28 years of military service, Bill was stationed in many stateside and exotic locations such as French Morocco, Solomon Islands, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Labrador, England and Okinawa, Japan. After retirement, Bill resided in Lakeport, Calif., until he and his wife moved to Florence, Ore., in 2004.
Bill was active for many years in the Florence veterans groups and the Florence history museum. His interests were swimming, golf, wood carving and a love of animals.
He is survived by his wife Audre, son Larry Carmical of Cleveland, Ohio, and daughter Barbara Piazza of Bossier City, La.
