Feb. 1, 2020 — From Jan. 28 through Feb. 25, local artists from Backstreet Gallery will fill the walls of the Florence Events Center Galleries with an array of distinctive artwork, created in both two and three dimensions.
Enjoy wood pieces turned or carved; unique paintings in watercolor, oil and acrylic; one-of-a-kind jewelry; stunning photography; rare paper painting collage; as well as fiber art, decorative gourds and gleaming fused glass.
Among the Backstreet Gallery artists displayed are Stephanie Ames, Kristin Anderson, Mark Anderson, Pattie Brooks Anderson, Larry Bishop, Deborah Cray, Kathryn Damon-Dawson, Meredith Draper, Caroline Estill, Rhiannon Griffiths, Claudia Ignatieff, Daphne John, John Leasure, Colleen Mcknight and Karen Nichols.
Backstreet Gallery has come a long way since its humble beginnings in a small house on Laurel Street some 15 years ago. It has been voted the best gallery in Florence and has become well-known along the entire Oregon Coast.
The Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St., is open to the public Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will be closed Monday, Feb. 17, for Presidents’ Day.
Backstreet Gallery is located at 1421 Bay St. in Historic Old Town Florence and is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
