ANDERSON—John Monroe Anderson, 75, passed away Aug. 26, 2020, at his home in Springfield Ore.
He was born to Cecil and Ruby (Forehand) Anderson and graduated from Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Ore.
John spent many years working in plywood mills on the Oregon coast. He worked several other jobs around Oregon, including his own lawncare business and even crossing the country driving long haul trucks.
He enjoyed working on small engines, even tinkering his way into the repair shop of Kirby vacuums. One job he really valued was driving vans for Dial-a-Ride in Bend. John loved getting to know all kinds of people.
He will be fondly remembered for his smile and sense of humor.
When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing with family and friends the most. Many fishing stories can be shared about John. If he wasn’t out in the fishing boat, he may have been found in the woods shooting guns or drinking a cold beer by the campfire. He spent his retirement days among the rivers and lakes of Central Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil; his mother Ruby; brother Bob and sister Dorris.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Jeff and David; daughter Teresa; grandchildren: Scott, Justin, Kurtis, Breanna, Mackenzie, Cobie and Bailey; great-grandchildren: Alice and Henley; sister Donna, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
