KIEF—Aaron Wayne Kief went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2022, at the young age of 47. He was incredibly loved and will be dearly missed by his surviving parents, Lonnie and Conni Kief and Debbie and Cal Schiermeister; his siblings, Jennifer (John), Tiffanie (Aaron), Kirk, Tammie, John (Diana), Stacie and Michael (Laura); his children, Chad (Ashley), Jay (Brittany), Austin (Kelsey) and Tyler; and his grandkids, Owen, Charlotte, Luna, Max, Paisley, Raianne and Wyatt; his grandparents Wayne and Tina Bollenbaugh; and so many other relatives and friends.
Aaron was born in Florence, Ore., on Jan. 23, 1975. He spent his childhood there, where he graduated in 1994.
Aaron loved his family, especially his grandkids, and could often be heard bragging about them. He also loved all things outdoors — including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and keeping the gopher population down on the property where he lived. Aaron loved sharing his passion for hunting and fishing with anyone willing to get up before the chickens and stay out for hours.
Aaron made many friends from his jobs that took him all over the U.S. His travels took him to the oil fields in North Dakota, out to the coast of South Carolina, but he always went back to his favorite place in Montana, where he could chase big elk, try to outsmart mule deer and fish plenty of waters to catch big keepers.
Aaron was a goofball with a great sense of humor and could never pass up a good prank. Everyone that knew him, regardless for how long, was blessed by his big smile, hearty laugh, huge hugs and enormous heart.
There will be a Celebration of Life that all friends and family are invited to attend on Saturday, April 9, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Florence Elks Lodge #1858, 1686 12th St., Florence OR 97439.
