For Dave “Big Poppa” Pharr, building the 1955 Plymouth Plaza 2-door Wagon which he refers to as the Plymouth BA-GT (Bad Ass-Girl Toy), was a labor of love — specifically, it was meant as a surprise for his wife, Merianne. The surprise came two years late, as the project grew with Dave’s ideas and some bumps in the road.
From highly-detailed commissioned sketches to special ordering parts, the Pharrs and their team worked for well over two years to bring the amethyst and metallic gold 1955 Plymouth Wagon to life.
The car was completed in July 2015, and has gone on to win several awards, including the 2016 Rods ’n’ Rhodies Best of Show in Florence.
“Big Poppa” and “Lil Mama” also have a 1954 Buick Special.
