Posted: Thursday, Mar 2nd, 2017

Bandon Showcase presents Women of the World — Global Voices United at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 16, at the Sprague Community Theater in Bandon, 1202 11th St. SW.

Women of the World is an ensemble of musicians from different corners of the globe.

The group, consisting of Ayumi Ueda, Annette Philip, Dιbo Ray and Giorgia Renosto, is a microcosm of the world, bringing women musicians onto a common platform to collaborate and create. Not only is it a sharing of music, but also exploring and celebrating the differences in ideologies and cultural tenets that exist in the daily lives of women all over the world.

With a repertoire of folk and traditional music spanning 27 languages, Women of the World continues to serve as cultural ambassadors of peace and unity.

“By making music together, we have made beautiful friendships,” a spokeswoman said. “In this spirit, we celebrate the beauty of diversity. We sing for not just tolerance, but wisdom, respect and joy.

“We, as Women of the World, believe in the power of music. We believe in our bond. We believe in peace.”

Reserved seating tickets cost $25 each and are available at Bandon Mercantile, 541-347-4341, by visiting www.bandonshowcase.org or at the door.
