The Lady Sailors had their best performance of the season Thursday night during Mapleton’s final home game against Triangle Lake.

“I’ve never been more proud of my girls as I was Tuesday night,” said Mapleton coach Mike Murray. “Once again, we finished with just four girls on the floor but they never gave up.”

With 11 seconds left in the first half, sophomore Bailey Messick grabbed a steal and passed to fellow sophomore Erin Michael, who scored at the buzzer to tie the game at 10-10 entering the half.

In the third quarter, lone senior Josi Hays put the Lady Sailors ahead with a shot from the freethrow line, but the Lady Lakers quickly took the lead on a 3-point play and a pair of buckets to move ahead 17-11.
